Fixed panels are the smallest, simplest form of secondary glazing and good value.  Face fixed with screws or with turnbuckles to be easily removed as required.

The unit has a neoprene bubble gasket to the rear which provides superb air tight sealing qualities.  They are often used for non-opening windows, wooden doors suffering from draught and bespoke projects.

HINGED MEETING STILE

A frameless hinged panel is ideal for single windows, small doors and where sliders may not be an option.

This type opens inwards into the room and is face fixed only.

The closing mechanism for the hinged unit includes either sliding catches or turnbuckles.  By sliding the catches downwards or twisting the turnbuckles to one side the unit can be opened.

The reverse procedure should be used for closing the unit; a stay arm is available to secure the panel in an open position.  The hinges are maintenance free, as they are self lubricating.

Units can be paired together using the overlap section on the centre and meeting style turnbuckles to secure the centre.

Essentially a removable panel in an outerframe.

Great for fixed windows where only occasional access is required for cleaning etc.

Lift outs are removed from the frame by the handle running full length at the bottom of the pane.  To remove the panel from the frame lift the panel via the handle upwards until the panel touches the inside of the outerframe head.  The bottom of the panel can then be tilted out towards the operator until it is clear of the bottom frame.  The panel can then be lowered from the head and removed for cleaning etc.  To replace the panel in the frame simply reverse the above procedure.

Joiner bar available to join multiple lift out or hinge in frame units together.

One of the most commonly used forms of secondary glazing.  Ideal over typical 2 and 3 pane external casement windows, patio doors and any window formation with vertical sight lines.

There is no limit on the number of panels in one individual frame and frame length is up to 5.5m.  Frames can be joined catering for bigger windows/partitions etc.

3 Track option is available for maximum opening effect.

Panels are removable at anytime.

Panels slide on nylon skids which run on a PVC track.  Heavy duty rollers are optional for heavy and narrow panes or simply to enhance a regular size slider.  Once rollers are fitted a regular healthy adult can slide panels with one finger!

Windows are opened via a handle running the full height of the panel and slide left or right as required.  When closing the unit it may be necessary to hold panel closed while shutting the other if locks have not been fitted, this is quite normal and is due to the tight tolerances in which the unit operates.

Other options include:

  • Centre keylocks for added security
  • Flip over handle locks (slide locks) each side of the frame
  • Anti-Lift inserts (panels become non-removable) Suited to public hatchways
  • Aluminium joiner bar (alternatively own timber can be used instead)
  • Rollers (describe above)

Ideal over small vertical sliding windows, top hung casement windows and hatchways.

Panels can be removed for cleaning.

Windows are operated via a bolt mechanism, to operate the top panel these bolts are pulled in towards the centre, this releases the bolts from the PVC inserts in the outer frame and the panel can then be slid downwards.  The bolts should be released when the desired opening is close to being achieved and the bolts may then engage outward into the outer frame plastics.  To close the top panel simply slide the panel upwards and ensure the bolts engage before releasing the panel.  To open the bottom panel slide the panel upwards and allow the bolts to engage in the required position, when closing the bottom panel pull the bolts towards the centre of the panel and slide downwards to the desired position.

Please note at all times when the bolts are operated or the panel is sliding, the weight of the panel is in the users hands.
